Treatment
Current treatments of hyponatremia include fluid restriction (0.8 – 1.5 L/day), urea, demeclocycline and intravenous infusion of saline. These treatment options are not always effective and can in certain cases be difficult to administer. Samska is also a treatment alternative for certain patients with hyponatremia due to SIADH. It is import to treat the underlying cause of SIADH where ever possible.
